Common Holiday FAQ's

How is Holiday Pay Accrued?

Holiday pay is accrued as hours are worked. For each hour worked you will accrue 12.07% in holiday time (just over 7 minutes).

How many days do I get a year?

Standard holiday entitlement is 28 days including bank holidays per year. This will be less if you work less than full time hours or for less than a full year.

Where do I send a holiday form?

Please email all completed holiday forms to [email protected] prior to taking the holiday.

When does the holiday year run?

1st October to 30th September each year

I work 8-hour days, why isn't it 8 paid hours? (or however many)

Holiday pay is calculated as the average number of hours worked and average pay rate paid for the last 52 weeks (or less if not worked 52 weeks).

If you work 8 hours per day, 5 days per week for 52 weeks you would be paid 8 hours holiday per day.

If you work varied hours, i.e 30 hours week one, 40 hours week two and 16 week three, this will average to 5.7 hours holiday pay per day to be paid.

Do I need to request the holiday with the company I am at first?

We recommend confirming your holiday request with the company you're assigned to first. Once the request has been approved, you can submit your form to: [email protected] prior to taking the holiday.

Where can I view my payslips?

You can view them on the Prime Appointments Portal.

Login to the portal

When are my payslips available to view on the portal?

Your payslip can be viewed on the following Thursday after the week you have worked, with payment going in to your nominated bank account on the Friday.

How much does Prime pay per hour?

The hourly rate for each assignment will depend on the specific client and will always meet or exceed the current National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage. Your pay will be based on the total hours you work during the assignment with tax, National insurance and Pension contributions deducted where applicable. Your pay rate will be confirmed when your assignment is arranged.

What day of the week will I get paid?

Our standard payday is Friday. The timing of when your payment appears in your bank account may vary depending on your bank's processing times.
