At Prime Appointments, supporting Alzheimer’s Society is a cause close to our hearts. Since 2018, we’ve worked to raise both funds and awareness, initially setting out to reach £100,000 over ten years. Thanks to the dedication of our team, family, and friends, we hit that goal within just three years. Today, we’re proud to share that our total stands at over £250,000! And we couldn’t have done it without your support.
For us, this commitment is deeply personal. Our co-founder, Margaret Locke, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at just 51, which brought the impact of this disease into our daily lives. Watching Margaret—a vibrant, passionate, and intelligent person—face Alzheimer’s inspired our Managing Director, Robyn, to dedicate herself to this cause. Her drive to raise as much support and awareness as possible has fueled our fundraising efforts every step of the way.

Prime Appointments is incredibly proud to have been nominated by Alzheimer’s Society and awarded Corporate Partner of the Year at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising. This recognition highlights the ongoing dedication of our team, volunteers, and supporters who have helped us raise over £250,000 for Alzheimer’s research and care. We’re grateful for the opportunity to continue our work alongside Alzheimer’s Society in the fight against dementia.
Our Recent Fundraising Events
Each event reflects the dedication of our team, volunteers, and generous donors who help us work towards a future without Alzheimer’s.
Our annual golf day has become one of our biggest Alzheimer’s fundraisers, thanks to the incredible volunteers and donors who make it possible each year. Hosted at the beautiful Colchester Golf Club, participants enjoyed rounds of golf, complete with a stop at our well-loved Prime halfway house.
In the evening, guests took part in an exciting auction led by our dedicated fundraising partner, Stuart Levett, and heard from our Managing Director, Robyn Holmes, alongside Fiona Carragher, Chief Policy and Research Officer at Alzheimer’s Society. This year’s event raised an impressive £21,600 on the day, with additional contributions, coming in afterward.
In 2024, Director Jack O’Brien took on the full 26.2-mile London Marathon, marking a first for Prime’s fundraising efforts. Having completed two half-marathons in the past, Jack decided it was time to tackle a bigger challenge. After months of training, he powered through the final miles, finishing the marathon in 4 hours and 39 minutes. The energy on race day was incredible, helping Jack and his fellow fundraisers—Craig Turnbull, Jack Milsom, and Charlie Milsom—raise an impressive £11,015.
Our annual Memory Walk, held in Witham, Essex, has become a cherished tradition for Prime Appointments. In 2023, this peaceful 4.7-mile walk through the Essex countryside raised £2,864, with participants sharing stories and memories along the way. The day concluded with tea, cake, and great conversation at Prime HQ, making for a wonderful end to a memorable event.
