We have partnered with an innovative manufacturer based in Chelmsford to recruit a CNC Machinist into their growing team. Our client is transforming the manufacturing industry, combining technology and manufacturing to create a forward-thinking company.

Duties:

• Shift work, Monday to Friday, 06.00 - 14.00 for two weeks, followed by 14.00 - 22.00 for two weeks
• In this role you'll read and interpret component blueprints on a daily basis, working with geometric dimensions and tolerances.
• Setting up and preparing for machining activities
• You'll set and operate CNC turning machines to ensure maximum efficiency and reduce machine down time.
• Supporting production engineers, by setting up new tools and creating datum reference points to ensure smooth running of the machine
• Safety is important, where you'll carefully load and unload raw materials into the CNC machines.
• Setting gauges and utilising manual measuring instruments appropriately.
• Perform preventive and regular maintenance on machines, equipment and tools used in all processes.
• Isolate and potentially quarantine any piece that may not conform to customer specification and report accordingly

To be considered for this exciting CNC Machinist role, you will need the following experience:

• Apprentice trained in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
• Engineering background setting and operating CNC machines
• Excellent attention to detail
• Able to work autonomously but also as part of a team
• Strong communicator and responsive to change
