A family run manufacturing company on the outskirts of Colchester, Essex are currently recruiting for a fitter to join their expanding team.

This is a temporary to permanent position, looking to pay between £13 - £15.50 per hour.

Overview:
As a fitter, you will be involved in transforming shipping containers, trailers & old vans into fully functioning mobile units.

Key Responsibilities:

• As a fitter you will be required to install interior fixtures such as counters, doors, windows, interior panels plus much more
• Read from technical drawings
• Using hand & power tools daily, such as drills, saws, grinders plus much more
• Helping with basic plumbing & electrics
• You will work closely with staff internally to fit out bespoke interiors to a high standard
• Help with problem solving in the workshop
• Follow company health & safety policies as and when required

Candidate requirements:

• Background in fitting & fabrication (a joiner, cabinet maker or vehicle fitter
• The ideal applicant will be confident in installing mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems
• Ability to read from technical drawings
• Strong problem solving skills
• Excellent team player and communication skills
• Due to the location of the site, the person will have their own transport
• Beneficial - Training or qualification in bench fitting, joinery, metal fabrication or related trades

Working Hours:

• 07:30-16:30 Monday - Thursday and a 13:30 finish on Fridays!
