Machine Operator / Counterbalance Forklift Driver
£12.21 per hour | Permanent Opportunity | Immediate Start Available

We are pleased to offer an exciting new opportunity with a well-established company specialising in the production of food-based items. Based in the heart of the Essex countryside, between Burnham-on-Crouch and Maldon, this is a fantastic role for individuals with experience in food manufacturing.

Key Requirements:

  • Candidates must hold a valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift licence
  • Due to the rural location, own transport is essential

This is a permanent position, starting with an initial trial period through Prime Appointments.

Main Duties of the Machine Operator / Counterbalance Forklift Driver:

  • Operating production machinery
  • Using a Counterbalance Forklift to load and unload both machinery and lorries
  • Performing quality checks and completing required paperwork
  • Supporting various stages of the production process
  • Assisting in both production and goods-in departments
  • General housekeeping duties as required

Ideal Machine Operator / Counterbalance Forklift Driver Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing and production environment
  • Holds a valid Counterbalance Forklift licence
  • Own means of transport
  • Comfortable working across both production and warehousing functions
  • Seeking long-term, stable employment
  • Confident with basic paperwork, both handwritten and digital
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit team

Working Hours & Pay:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekly rotating shifts: 7:00am - 3:30pm (May go to a rotating shift in the future)
  • £12.21 per hour to start (rising to £13+ after 12 weeks)
  • Weekly pay
  • Overtime available
  • Standard holiday allowance
