Prime Appointments are currently working with a multinational electronic manufacturer who are looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their fast-growing team, based in Colchester, filled with experienced and motivated engineers.

Reporting to the Mechanical Design Department Manager you will be required to assist in the design, research, prototyping and estimating. In return you will receive a high-class training and development plan to ensure you excel within the business.

Responsibilities:

• Create innovative mechanical products and systems from initial concept through to final execution
• Design and analyse mechanical and electromechanical systems, utilising 3D CAD modelling and simulation tools
• Manage the development process to ensure it meets project requirements and timelines
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and drawings for design projects

Skills and experience required for this Mechanical Design Engineer role:

• This role is open to Graduates with a Degree in mechanical engineering but equally if you have equivalent industry experience you will also be considered
• Demonstrated success in developing and delivering mechanical products and systems.
• Experience using Solidworks
• Proficient in 3D CAD modelling, simulation, and other relevant design software
• Experience within electronics, PCB design, 3D printing, or sheet metal design would also be beneficial for your application
