This employee-owned manufacturing company are looking for an NDE Technician. Job specifications:

  • Perform Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) on castings and welds according to established procedures and specifications
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results
  • Interpret and evaluate testing results to identify defects, discontinuities, or irregularities
  • Document testing procedures, results, and observations in accordance with company and regulatory standards
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations during testing procedures to ensure the well-being of personnel and equipment
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to analyse testing results and recommend corrective actions if necessary
  • Maintain testing equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibration
  • Participate in the development and improvement of NDE techniques and procedures
  • Stay updated with advancements in NDE technology, industry standards, and UK regulations
  • Provide training and guidance to junior technicians as needed

Necessary qualifications/skills/experience:

  • Certification to SNT-TC-1A Level 2 in Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
  • Certification to ISO 9712 Level 2 in Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), recognized in the UK
  • Proven experience in performing LPI and MPI in an industrial setting
  • Strong understanding of NDE principles, techniques, and procedures
  • Physical ability to perform testing duties, including working in confined spaces or at heights
  • Willingness to undergo additional training and certifications as required by the company or regulatory authorities
