Due to expansion, our client is keen to recruit a Project Manager to work on a variety of projects. The company based in the Colchester area, designs, manufactures and installs noise and vibration control systems and have projects ranging in value from £2,000 to £1.5M consisting of enclosures, doors and screens. Candidates will need to have relevant engineering qualifications and preferably a experience of metal fabrication or steel erecting.

- Salary £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
- Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5pm, Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm. When on site hours are between 8am and 6pm

Duties:
- Prepare detailed 'Project Programmes' and monitor progress.
- Work with Design Office, liaise with Bid Team and Customer where required to negotiate a technical solution and provide 'parts list' for procurement.
- Agree subcontract programmes, attendances and working methods prior to commencement
- Check drawings and approve all inhouse and specialist subcontract drawings
- Ensure the completion of the installation programme and customer handover on site.
- Carry out method studies and investigations producing detailed Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Lead the Delivery Team and interface with the Bid Team on receipt of purchase order
- Attend Handover Meeting and M1, to assume control of information
- Set up and maintain good communications at all levels and across all disciplines
- Plan all site deliveries for materials, personnel and plant,
- Complete the works within the agreed contract period
- Make the most efficient use of resources including staff, labour, plant, subcontractors and materials
- Ensure all 'As Built' information is transferred to Completion and Customer Development Team for the production of O&M Manuals and H&S files
- Occasionally will be required to stay away overnight or overseas
Experience:
- Qualified to HNC or degree level in an engineering discipline
- Heath & Safety qualifications, site experience and SSSTS or SMSTS would be preferable
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, Powerpoint, Microsoft project etc
- Must have Prince 2 Practitioner certificate or similar
- Steel erecting and sheet metal fabrication experience is preferable
- Must have a clean driving license
