We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Quality and Goods in Controller to join our team in Great Dunmow, Essex. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring the quality and accuracy of our incoming goods and materials, playing a vital part in the success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and inspect all critical incoming goods and materials against purchase orders, technical drawings, and specifications

  • Unload materials and stock items and place them in assigned storage locations

  • Verify delivery documentation and ensure completeness and accuracy

  • Conduct visual inspections and use measurement tools (e.g., micrometres, gauges) to check dimensions and tolerances

  • Identify and report any non-conformance's or damaged goods

  • Log inspection results and maintain accurate inventory using the ERP system

  • Liaise with purchasing and internal departments to resolve quality issues

  • Quarantine and label non-conforming items and initiate corrective actions

  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the inspection process

  • Carry out regular stock checks and assist with stock takes in other areas

  • Organise and store stock in designated areas

  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe stores environment in line with health and safety policies

  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet trucks

  • Communicate effectively with other departments to meet operational needs

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a quality control is essential

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications

  • Skilled in using measurement tools such as micrometres and gauges

  • Good IT literacy and experience with ERP/stock management systems

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping

  • Physically fit and able to complete manual handling tasks

  • Valid forklift/pallet truck license is a plus (training can be provided)

  • Positive, proactive attitude and a team-oriented mindset
