A family run, well established manufacturing company based in Braintree, Essex are looking for a Saw Operator to join their small team. They will be happy to look for an experienced sawyer or a more junior candidate that they can

The starting salary will be up to £28,000, dependent on experience. This will lead to a permanent position for the right candidate after a 3-month probation period.

Hours of work are Monday - Friday, 08:00-16:30 with overtime available through the week plus an early Friday finish!

As a sawyer your main duties will be operating ripsaws and crosscut saws to cut materials such as plywood and timber, you will need to have experience working in a fast paced timber environment.

The ideal candidate will come from a joinery or carpentry background and will be able to problem solve, use power / hand tools and be able to work well independently.

Sawyer duties: -

• Use of pneumatic nail guns and/or staplers
• Use of crosscut and/or circular saws
• Follow cutting lists and minimise waste
• Producing components for assemblers to work from
• Moving and lifting timber (need to be physically fit)

Experience of wooden case, crate, or pallet manufacturing is advantageous but not essential.
