Steel Saw Operator - Chelmsford - Up to £13.60ph

A well-established steel stockholding and fabrication business is currently looking to recruit an experienced Steel Saw Operator to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in steel processing or manufacturing to secure a long-term role with great benefits.

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating steel bandsaws and supporting general warehouse operations. You will work from technical drawings, ensure precise measurements, and assist with the safe handling of materials using overhead cranes and forklift trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate steel bandsaws to cut materials to specification

• Use overhead cranes and forklift trucks safely and effectively

• Interpret technical drawings and measure materials accurately

• Verify size and length of materials before cutting

• Support general warehouse tasks as required

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in a steel fabrication, stockholding, or manufacturing environment

• Skilled in operating industrial machinery, particularly bandsaws

• Excellent attention to detail

• Strong timekeeping and communication skills

• A dependable and safety-conscious work approach
