We have a fantastic opportunity for a Workshop Manager to join a growing team working within an Essex based Plant Hire company. The company are looking for someone to drive improvements within the business as well as being hands on and leading from the front.

Duties:
- Based in the workshop leading a team to ensure equipment is ready for hire.
- Work with other departments to provide excellent customer service.
- Allocate jobs to workshop staff based on technical requirements and urgency.
- Conduct daily meetings to keep the team informed and motivated.
- Inspire and mentor the team to develop their technical skills promoting a positive and inclusive culture.
- Diagnose, service, and repair a variety of plant equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify faults.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and electrical systems as required.
- Perform scheduled maintenance to reduce the risk of breakdowns.
- Maintain records of repairs, services, and inspections.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to customers on equipment usage and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and quality standards
Skills & Experience:
- Must have experience as a Plant Mechanic or similar with a good knowledge of construction and heavy plant equipment.
- Must be proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- The ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics is essential.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent and Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance would be preferable with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational and proven leadership skills are a must with a good track record of meeting targets and building relationships.
- Experience with compliance standards and in-house systems.
- A valid UK driving license is essential
