Why Alzheimer's Society?

209,600 people will develop dementia this year, that’s one every three minutes.

Our objective is to raise as much awareness as we can for people with Dementia and Alzheimer's. We want to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society so that a cure, research, and support services can be provided for our local community and throughout the UK. Every donation counts.

This is also a cause that is very close to our hearts, as our co-founder Margaret Locke herself was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the age of just 51. It has been a real tragedy for everyone close to her to watch as this condition has progressed.

What Is Dementia?

  • Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia, affecting between 50 and 75 per cent of those diagnosed.
  • Symptoms of dementia include memory loss, confusion and problems with speech and understanding. Dementia is a terminal condition.
