Some of the best professional experiences come from within an office job. When you spend everyday on a strict schedule, from working hours to deadlines, it's easy to perfect those time management skills. We want to know how an everyday office job works for you! Let's start by talking about our own staff's experiences...
Our Culture
When you're working in an office, it is much easier to meet all employers and colleagues. These benefits are endless, with a strong company bond and better communication, the collaboration of the team is seamless. An office life proves no better way to understand the ins and outs of the business when you're experiencing office life through the company, first hand.
"I really like working in the office and being off last year really made me realise that. I like the social side of seeing everyone and having separated work and home mindsets. It’s easier to communicate across the team as well, especially because Nicola and I work so closely." Kate - Health & Social Care Consultant
Office Jobs provide excellent networking opportunities. Especially in office spaces like ours, where our staff are split into specialist divisions, the pools of knowledge under one roof are extensive. Whilst constantly learning, adapting and overcoming challenges, we are constantly progressing our own personal careers as well as propelling the company.
"Adapting to company culture is something I value as I feel a sense of family orientation within the business. I enjoy working within an open plan office as it makes a friendly atmosphere and a great team environment." - Donna Project Coordinator
Here are some of our teams top pro's:
- Progress and evolve your skill sets when learning from peers
- Benefitting from positive internal culture (Friday drinks, Team breakfast)
- Separating home life from work life, having designated space and hours
Top Tips to keep happy & healthy in the office
Whilst we thrive off of the office job lifestyle, we need to ensure that our health and well-being choices are in check. Struggling from an achy neck and stiff shoulders?
Why not try these tips to switch up your work life...
Get moving on your work break
Kick start your office health choices by doing yourself a favour and give your legs and body a good stretch at lunch time. Why not take a 10 minute stroll somewhere nice and enjoy your lunch.
Keep track of that water intake
Tiredness is often caused by dehydration so it’s important to stay hydrated throughout the day. Who doesn't love a coffee but how much coffee is too much? Caffeine has a number of benefits however it’s important to keep an eye on your intake. If you're bored of water, try adding lemon slices, mixed fruit or some flavoured squash to mix up your routine…let's get sipping.
Start off your day with a solid breakfast, after all, it is the most important meal of the day
Prepping your meals can be beneficial to minimise snacking at the desk, reduce sugar intake and create a regulated food routine that can stop you feeling excessively hungry during your working day.
Ease up on those checklists
We all get hung up on the mounting work load. Instead of feeling guilty about what we haven't managed to complete, let's focus on the positives! Reward yourself for all of the tasks you have completed and end the work day feeling a sense of achievement.
Nervous to take the plunge back to office life?
Is working from home your now preferred lifestyle? With all of the personal benefits from remote working, it can be hard to picture yourself back working in an integrated environment. If working from home has changed your opinion on working in an office, why not try out some temporary roles. This way you can trial new positions for a length of time that suits you!
