Let’s dive straight in!

We completed our first half marathon!

Colchester Half Marathon runners

On the 21ST of May, our team of intrepid runners participated in the Colchester Half Marathon for Alzheimer's Society.

We laced up our running shoes to run the route starting at the Jobserve Community Stadium. We then headed into the city centre and out round the country lanes surrounding Colchester.

Thank you to all the event marshals & volunteers and thank you to the people of Colchester for all the encouragement around the 13.1 mile course

There is still time to contribute to our Just Giving page

Thank you for voting for us in the Family Business Awards

The time to vote is over and now all we can do is wait for the results to see who is crowned Family Business of the Year 2023. As part of the lead up to the big day, Family Business United dropped in as part of their Family Business Road Trip. They talked to the family and said:

Prime is well placed to continue their incredible journey. For over 30 years they have been supporting local businesses and there is ample evidence to say that they will be doing it for the next 30 years and beyond. You could say this family business is really reaching its prime and we look forward to seeing what the future holds.

On June 21st Robyn, Jack and Katie will head to London in hopes of accepting the award and seeing Prime Appointments crowned as Family Business of the year 2023!

Upcoming Events:

Charity Golf Day:

We invite our business partners and clients to enjoy a day of golf, a delicious meal and a charity auction, with the event being funded by us and hosted by our partners at Colchester Golf Club. The event takes place on the 7th of June with a shotgun start.

Last year’s Golf Day raised; an incredible £26,000 in 12 hours!

Fun fact: We have historically received an incredible selection of donations to our raffle, with celebrities such as; ‘Olly Murs’ making sizable donations.

Prime Attend Meeting At Parliament

Our MD Robyn Holmes and Director Jack O’Brien both took time out of their busy days to attend a meeting with the Home Secretary RT Hon Suella Braverman's support team. They discussed the current barriers recruitment companies face and how to improve the Right to Work (RTW) scheme.

The IDVT scheme only accepts applications using an in-date UK passport (not an expired passport or any version of a birth certificate) to verify the right to work in the UK. This means job seekers without an up-to-date passport need to visit an employment agency to get work, rather than doing an online interview. This adds time and money in travel to attend the interview stage and the subsequent RTW checks.

Around 8 million people in England and Wales do not currently hold a passport. This is equal to 13.5% of the population. The UK needs as many people working as possible to keep our economy growing this year and in the years ahead. The Home Office's ultimate goal is to make it easier for UK nationals without a passport to get into work by making things fully digital. However, this won't be a quick fix and it will take time to find the correct solution.

Keep an eye out for a more in-depth article on this in the coming weeks on our website.
