Stores Operative

Location: Colchester, Essex
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am - 4:45pm, Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm

Prime Appointments are hiring for a Stores Operative to join a well-established engineering company based in Colchester, Essex on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and inspect incoming goods, ensuring they meet company quality standards and quantity requirements.
• Maintain accurate stock records and carry out regular stock checks and inventory counts.
• Store and organise goods safely within designated warehouse and storage areas.
• Use the company's warehouse management system to track and manage inventory.
• Report damaged goods, stock discrepancies, or other issues to the management team.
• Pick, pack, and label orders ready for dispatch and distribution.

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience in a Stores Operative, or similar role within a logistics distribution and supply chain enviroment
• The ability to work on your feet for extended periods and carry out manual handling duties.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently using your own initiative, as well as part of a team.
• Basic IT skills and experience using inventory or warehouse management systems.

Hours and Pay:

• Monday to Friday (37hours per week)
• 8am-4.45pm with a 1pm finish on Friday.
