We’ve been shining the spotlight on a lot of our new recruiters here at Prime who have come here from a variety of career paths lately. So, we thought we would take a second to honor our longer-term recruiters who have come to us from decades of prior recruitment experience.

“IT’S COMING HOME …”

In Quentin Tarantino’s cult film Kill Bill, there’s a scene where the heroine played by Uma Therman finds herself physically paralyzed in the back of a car. After making a heroic break for freedom, she is now completely unable to move. No force of will can make her even lift herself off the car seat on which she is slumped. You can only imagine her panic. Eventually, she calms herself down enough to focus her attention solely on the big toe on her right foot, which, through gritted teeth, she commands to “wiggle!”. Carefully, after hours of painstaking effort, she is able to prize herself free. Released from her prison, she throws herself into her mission with all guns blazing.

After a successful career in retail management, Mark decided to take the plunge and jump ship into the world of recruitment! After several years working his way up the retail ladder, deciding to make the move into a completely new sector was no mean feat for Mark. With years of steadily increasing pay behind him and a sector in which he’d climbed high, this was a big leap.

Everyone knows entrepreneurs are some of the most creative people out there! When you’re building your own business, you have to be able to think outside the box if you want to stand out from the crowd. Cultivating their own mini-businesses in the form of candidates and clients, our recruiters have to have these qualities in spades if they are to succeed. That’s why it never surprises us when creative people like our very own Graphic Design graduate Katie Holmes take to consultancy like ducks to water.

The well-oiled wheels of the car sales world weren’t quite enough of a challenge for family-man Ross Brown, who decided to turn his talents to the action-packed world of industrial recruitment.

Isn’t it odd to think that there used to be a time when we befriended people with zero knowledge of what their social life looked like? When we had absolutely no idea what our friends, colleagues and acquaintances were doing, watching, eating or drinking on the weekend? Social media has become so integrated into our lives that we no longer even notice its presence. With everyone and their dog posting what feels like minute-by-minute updates of their weekends, it’s easy to let our boundaries slip in the name of expressing our authentic selves.
