A leading manufacturing company based in Chester, are seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead their operational, financial, and commercial functions to new heights. They are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for designing and manufacturing high volume as well as one-off components for various industries.
Responsibilities:
- Take ultimate responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of all stakeholders on Company premises
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards through training and adherence to Company Health and Safety policy
- Oversee equipment and machinery operation in line with manufacturer's instructions and Company protocols
- Develop and execute the Company's Operations Strategy, driving operational excellence and efficiency
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure on-time delivery, within budget, and meeting quality standards
- Implement operational best practices to enhance manufacturing margin, health and safety, and housekeeping standards
- Provide leadership to scale operations in line with Company growth targets
- Develop and implement commercial strategies to achieve Company targets
- Collaborate with department heads to prepare estimates and forecasts regularly
- Work closely with Sales Managers to enhance customer relationships, driving turnover and profitability
- Represent the Company at external events to enhance the Company's profile and explore business development opportunities
- Foster relationships with the Group-wide Finance Team, ensuring adherence to targets and deadlines
- Collaborate with the Senior Management team to optimize overhead control and implement cost-saving measures
- Develop financial forecasts and budgets for the business to support strategic decision-making
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering, or relevant field; MBA preferred
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the manufacturing industry, in a leadership capacity
- Good understanding of the Profit & Loss (within sales and overheads specifically)
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Excellent commercial acumen with experience in developing and implementing commercial strategies
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and operational best practices, IOSH or NEBOSH Certified is advantageous
- Six Sigma Green Belt or similar (Beneficial)
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Outstanding leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
