A leading manufacturing company based in Chester, are seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead their operational, financial, and commercial functions to new heights. They are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for designing and manufacturing high volume as well as one-off components for various industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ultimate responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of all stakeholders on Company premises
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards through training and adherence to Company Health and Safety policy
  • Oversee equipment and machinery operation in line with manufacturer's instructions and Company protocols
  • Develop and execute the Company's Operations Strategy, driving operational excellence and efficiency
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure on-time delivery, within budget, and meeting quality standards
  • Implement operational best practices to enhance manufacturing margin, health and safety, and housekeeping standards
  • Provide leadership to scale operations in line with Company growth targets
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to achieve Company targets
  • Collaborate with department heads to prepare estimates and forecasts regularly
  • Work closely with Sales Managers to enhance customer relationships, driving turnover and profitability
  • Represent the Company at external events to enhance the Company's profile and explore business development opportunities
  • Foster relationships with the Group-wide Finance Team, ensuring adherence to targets and deadlines
  • Collaborate with the Senior Management team to optimize overhead control and implement cost-saving measures
  • Develop financial forecasts and budgets for the business to support strategic decision-making

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering, or relevant field; MBA preferred
  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the manufacturing industry, in a leadership capacity
  • Good understanding of the Profit & Loss (within sales and overheads specifically)
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Excellent commercial acumen with experience in developing and implementing commercial strategies
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and operational best practices, IOSH or NEBOSH Certified is advantageous
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or similar (Beneficial)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
