A quickly expanding and well renowned food manufacturing business on the outskirts of Ipswich, Suffolk are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

If you're looking for a maintenance role on a day shift, this is the role for you. With a rotating shift pattern working between 06:00-20:00 each week. Ideal for someone looking to get off night shifts.

This is a permanent position, paying between £40,000-£43,000 per annum, depending upon experience.

Overview of the role:

Undertaking the maintenance of the whole site, whilst undertaking mainly electrical duties, there will also be mechanical tasks involved too. You will directly report to a lead engineer.

What does the position involve?

• As a Shift Engineer you will carry out daily inspection of plant and equipment
• Deal with any machinery breakdowns in an timely manner, so that production downtime is not disrupted
• Fault finding both electrically & mechanically
• Assist in installation of new equipment / machinery
• Maintain services and fabrication of facility

Candidate requirements:

• This person will be apprentice trained or will have a NVQ/Diploma level 3 within Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge of PLC systems
• Will come from an manufacturing or food manufacturing background
• Good problem solving and teamwork skills
• 17^th/18th Edition Certificate is beneficial

Working Hours:

• 40 hour week (Provide and manage shift cover from 6am - 8pm) plus a rota for call outs
