A client of ours in the Witham area are recruiting a Supply Chain Planner to join their team. This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm and paying £27,000 - £32,000 per annum (negotiable for exceptional experience).
Key Duties include but are not limited to:
- Developing strong relationships with the packaging suppliers to identify and deliver packaging solutions, focusing on commitment to drive recyclable and eco friendly packaging and support our drive to Net Zero.
- Be the primary point of contact for all packaging queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the supply planning process for film, cartons, and raw materials to ensure timely availability of inventory and alert the business when availability affects service level.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure optimal stock levels are accurately maintained.
- Understand lead times, MOQs, and order timing to optimise inventory management and cashflow.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, stakeholders, and internal colleagues to address any supply chain and production issues and changes in demand.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to supply planning such as purchase orders, master data and pricing matrix.
- Analyse data and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Attend weekly NPD meetings to ensure delivery of critical paths and NPD success.
- Completion of costings including details such as packaging costs and MOQs.
- Arrange trial packaging - cardboard and films for NPD, ensuring they are fit for purpose and approved by key stakeholders across the business.
- Complete with the NPD team, the artwork approval process for cardboard and films: cutter guides, dimensions, locations of artwork pieces such as date code box, barcodes, clear areas etc.
- To attend regular meetings and maintain a high level of communication with our third party packers, our sites in Turkey and internal stakeholders.
- To be aware of storage space, capacity and capital requirements where applicable.
- Other ad hoc duties as required by the Supply Chain Manager.
Skills and Experience required to be considered for this Supply Chain Planner position:
- Educated to A level or degree standard.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Logistics distribution and supply chain planning role, preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel - ability to analyse supply chain data.
- Experience in ERP systems desirable.
- High attention to detail.
